thoughts of purchasing a wolf in sheeps clothing 90 with the sole intent to catch liverpool and surrounding area landy theives. by placing the 90 in a prone spot of theft and rigging the defender with means of a device which would "stop" or find! the theif, even if the car was a banger with some cheap shiny bling on.

cheers, dave.

police did it years ago with an escort xr3i, designed to stop and lock after about 50m yrds. left it with keys in and money on the dashboard. first theif that was caught got a good pay out after he sued the police for entrapment.
it was a **** idea then and a **** idea now, just wire the steering wheel to the mains if ya wanna catch a thief.

They still do it in the states..dunno how they get away with it...ffs, i hate thieves but surely its better to catch real ones than use entrapment? Remember Colin Stagg? Fkr sat 6 (?) years in jail cos of ****ty police work like this...not saying all coppers are lazy, but a few spoil it for the good ones.

What next, shopping trolleys full of tv's left outside a shop...tbh, i'd be tempted!!

disco 20200 im not too keen on saying where im based but i am in the realms of the NW area. And am aware there is a minority (OF THEIVING SCUM) on this forum who are actively looking for targets, as previously i had my pride and joy taken to be recovered in a kirby ind. estate unit in many various bits. and am noticicing alot chavvy 4x4 traffic via my home to look at my defender. im not concerned on the whole entrapment thing im more thinking damaging them to the extent where they are no longer able to theive a vehicle. im concidering fabricating a more severe alarm system with a difference such as smoke bombs fitted to the interior alarm sensors. im sick of this scally behaviour in the merseyside border and within the past 3 weeks i am aware of a few very nice vehicles going walkies and am saddened by this to happen as we are all dedicated to our vehicles night and day and makes you think is it worth being on edge and not getting a totally decent nights sleep because your so on edge.

If you were contemplating something such as this i would not discuss it on an open public forum to any extent.

well.

if you think there a minority of thieving scum on this forum i think you should name em. you obviously knowm something no one else does or are you just shouting your mouth off as a big man? really m8 i'm intersted.
are you having a pop at me or any others round this neck of the woods?

i know as a fact that in the past few years 3 individuals have been members on this forum who have been involved in selling broken stolen landy parts. i have no intention of accusing good landy owners here, but theres enough good landy owners round us, but theres now groups of scallies who have found them to be the in thing to own and tear up the streets in proof to this one was rolled a week back on a roundabout in southport being followed by 2 others and was left abandoned on the roadside after the incident. and theyre going missing more and more here, nil to mention i was speaking to the chap who owns bolt on bits week before last when i drove up there a single police officer had managed to recover 60 stolen landrovers from the yorkshire area via auto trader and ebay which where from this area of the northwest.

Think yu need to put up or shut up. Libel laws cover those that speak the truth.
Vigilantes dont have any place in a civilised society. Lynch mobs rarely get their facts correct.

Thin ice....some thieving scum member of the forum stole the line.

lol

just rig a landy with gps and a wireless camera that will transmit video.

then you can track it and/or failing that post a video of the skum who stole it.

entrapment will only get yourself in trouble.
something that will harm them also will get you into trouble.

the kids by me love them there so easy to rob so fix it that they arent best getting a cut out switch and hiding some where or even have a loud arse screamer alarm keep it on your path or have a sec light will keep them at bay. a mates of mine was robbed in kirkby and was found 5 minutes away on the field being played in. the usually just smash them to bits or are robbed to order

joey90 ( kirkby lar lar )

I have spent lots of time and effort and money thief-proofing my pride & joy, I have thought of every angle and made it as difficult as possible to take it, I also have a Tracker but understand that this all will not stop them, I have used smar****er on every part to identify parts broken, but this is not guaranteed either. but even with all my electronic gizmos the best things are the simplest. A friend of mine a number of years ago kept getting his van stolen so he bought a big german shepard dog and it basically lived in his van! It never got touched again, he didnt even have to lock it and the windows where always a little open for obvious reasons, he also was able to leave his tools in the van overnight, he said the dog was the best thing that he had ever bought:)

Landyman: Yer, no chav is ever taking my pride and joy, just try it mate.
Chav - sticks head in window and massive dog appears ready to chew his face off to the shoulders.
Landyman: Chuckles.
Chav - Yer, very funny mister, but is that ****er fireproof??
