soz, 1996 300tdi, in the centre of the instruments, at the bottom, between the rev counter and speedo, there's a little light (I assume it's a light!) Just wondering what it's for? :confused:

If it looks white it is the light for the Alarm/immobiliser. This should flash red when doors are locked remotely.

Had a very close look at my 95 dash today and there is a bit between the gauges that looks like a wheel arch outline and a wheel within that, in the position that the later models have an alarm/immobiliser light.

Anybody got an instrument cluster off the vehicle that they could hold up to a light and see if its the same?
 
The earlier models had the same led under the stereo so you might be able to replace it with 1 of them. Not been into a later clock set yet so cant tell you for sure
