Hi All,

"Buy anything but a Land Rover" was the advice given by everyone I asked. Well, since I ignored all that advice, and the resulting purchase has already cost me over a grand in repairs (vendor was less than honest about the condition of the vehicle), I guess I should start listening to some advice on a Landy forum ;)

welcome to the world of being skint but able to drive anywhere most cars cant, but only when its not up on ramps in a garage
*sobs* The only consolation is that the whole family has fallen in love with it - poor purchasing decisions have been (almost) forgiven.

Welcome!
However don't pay any attention to any of my advice as I make every mistake going.:)
What type have you got?

It's a TD5 90 station wagon(? White roof with 4 flappy seats in the back, ovalised roof/side windies and a sunroof of sorts). First DIY job is to find out how to turn off the rear fog light - switch doesn't appear to do anything, fog light icon permanently illuminated on the dash, even with ignition off/key out but actual fog light never illuminates. The bulb is fine. Doesn't appear to be draining the battery though. I've taken the switch apart and it appears to just 'connect and release', rather than a traditional switch which stays in one position or another. Not entirely sure what the benefit of that design is... Tried just making/breaking circuit with a bit of wire but doesn't do anything.

Welcome. Ooch aye. Perfect vehicle for chugging around the Trossachs. Logging, trailers, off road, etc.
