I recently bought a 1974 S3 Lightweight and lovely as she is, will only reach about 40mph. I'm new to the marque so can anyone tell me if this is normal please?

Well thanks Freelaner, you seem to be the only person on here with more than fresh air between your ears. I'm leaving for good now and the rest of you pea brained w*****s can all crash in a ditch.

If your new to Series Landys you'd be far from the first to be confused by the gear levers. Considering you gave almost no information to guess with, asking if your in low range is a very reasonable question.....

Your response however is not so reasonable

Now pick up your toys, pop em back in the pram and tell us as much information as you are able and we may be able to help....

Or leave...that's up to you

Are we already in a ditch when we crash or do we have to find a ditch then crash into it........a small question of semantics I know but Im interested......

This just raises so many questions...

Is this a stationary ditch or I should be on the look out for rapid moving, malicious, daredevil ditches heading towards me down the road looking for trouble?
A kind of ASBO ditch.

Are we all going to crash into the same ditch (in which case it would have to be more like cheddar gorge than a normal ditch) or is it a kind of venus flytrap-esque ditch that will digest the last landy before waiting for the next of us to happen along?

The roads are obviously more dangerous than I thought!
