Hi guys, just bought a disco 2000 td5 some days ago, unfortunately can't find the switch to turn on the lights on the bumper. Any help is appreciated :)

I don't know but they may be wired as spots. If so there'll be a switch that when on will mean they come on with mainbeam only.

From the owner's handbook:

Front fog lights
Press to operate, press a second time to switch off (the indicator light in the switch illuminates when the fog lights are switched on).
The fog lights can be operated ONLY when the starter switch is at position ‘II’ and the side or headlights are also switched on. The fog lights extinguish automatically when the side lights or the starter switch is turned off.
The switch is the top one of the four on the left side of the instrument binnacle.

The fuses are F3 (15 Amp) Fog light relay in the engine compartment.

yes, I mean the front bumper; brian47 I just checked the switch you mentioned, the row of switches just beside the instrument cluster. when pressed mine does not click or lock or engages, it just jumps back with no lights coming on; maybe the lights and switch are installed but not wired as yet?

I can confirm that the switch is non-latching type of switch (a push button). The way the circuit works is that pressing the switch sends a signal to the BCU. The BCU then switches the front fog lamp relay and then the relay powers the lights and the tell-tale. Pressing the switch a second time signals the BCU to switch the circuit off again.
It's important to get the pre-conditions for the lights to work set first. Check that the relay clicks when the switch is pressed.

If the lamps and switch are there, then I would assume that the wiring is there too and that they should work. The only other thing I can think of if the physical circuit and components (wiring, connections, switch, relay and fuse) are all correct is that the facility has been disabled somehow in the BCU, in which case a diagnostic set would be required to check and correct it.

The only other thing to note is that you must have your dipped beam on for them to work as they are intended as fog lights

Wrong in so many ways

1) D2 MY2000 - Front Fog lights work with just the side lights on, the rear fog lights require either dip lights or Front fogs to be on.

2) The whole point of Front fog lights is to produce a wide low beam of light that does not reflect back off of the fog, therefore why would you want to have your dip lights on reflecting back off of the fog?

Sorry for trying to help and getting it wrong in "So Many Ways" - LOL

I am particularly fond of new cars where one fog-light comes on as the vehicle turns ...an extremely useful feature that I cant imagine how we ever did without.

well I tried some of the suggestions mentioned in the posts but none seem to activate the fog lights, will try to check the wiring and the bulbs.

and whilst we are at it, does anyone know how to fold the fronts seats down, they only have a wheel on the side which slowly moves the seat forward. And I would also appreciate it if anyone could give some directions on the removal of the 3rd row seats, quite new to the discovery

At the risk of getting it "Wrong in so many ways" LOL here goes

The front seats don't fold down I'm afraid
As for the middle row removal, there are torq bolts into the floor that are visible once you lift and tilt them forward with the backrest folded flat

Hope this helps
