Hi I have a freelander (05) I want to fit sidesteps and light guards but heard they are a nightmare to fit?has anyone fitted these or any advice?cheers

Rear light guards are easy. Unscrew the screws that hold them in, place cover over and rescrew back in with longer screws that should be supplied with light covers.

Fronts come with guide papers to get the holes drilled properly.

I fitted mine and they were no real hassle. For the fronts, measure 3 times and cut once as you need to cut 2 holes in the wing and 2 in the bumper per side.

Also, the light guards are on for life. As they leave 13mm wide holes.

Hi,

Side steps are easy - no problems.

Rear light guards are also no problem and are easy to remove / replace.

LandRover front light guards don't guard against anything. The plastic headlamp lenses get chipped and scratched despite them. And they make cleaning the headlights a pain in the ass.

Check out the Australian EGR clear plastic light guards which seem to be only available from Formula 4X4 as UK LandRover don't stock them. They used to for the pre-facelift model - but no more I believe.

They are great - come off easily to wash the headlights and can be easily polished up when scratched.

Clever buggers the Aussies - good on ya blue!

Singvogel.
