do you have to remove the anti roll bars when lifting a disco? and also iv got a polly bush kit for a 90 does any no if theres much differance or will most of the bushs fit thanks.

if you remove them make sure you can't seethey were ever there or it will fail the MOT for missing suspension components

And you will probably be ****ed sideways by the law if you happen to have a crash and kill someone.

defender bush kit is different to the discovery kit. I just bought a kit for my 90.

should you or shouldnt you i think its a very bad idea but its wot some one told me so i wanted more advise.

if you want articulation off road then you have to do it as the anti-roll bar will limit you but if you just want a posing machine then leave it on

no anti roll bars on Tufftee - not sure about the Green Machine, but no-one has said out at MOT time.

Disco's came from the factory boh with and without anti-roll bars so I don't see (Once all traces have been removed) how it can possibly cause a problem at MOT time .. like loghts, if they aren't there, they can't be tested!

I've just put the front one back on mine, I'm going to replace the links with rod ends to make disconnects, I prefer a softer spring set up as they work well offroad but you do get body roll on the dark stuff. As for bushes you can't go wrong with genuine standard ones.

I have a Disco with 2" lift and big tyres, it had both anti-roll bars removed, and was like driving a jelly on ice at motorway speeds. After rebushing everything with poly bushes it was a little better, but still felt like a yacht in a stiff wing when cornering on normal roads, so I refitted the front anti-roll bar, leaving the rear axle to do all the dislocating etc. it's much more drivable (& safer) now on the road, but still retains most of it's off road capabilities.

they only have to be fitted for MOT man to test or worry

mine had broken on one side so he buzzed it off and put it in my boot for me



(i wanted rid of it anyway)
