hi all i need some advice please i have just replaced the cam in my disco for a real steel cyclone cam at the same time have also replaced the following lifters push rods rockers rocker shafts springs and lapped the valves.
so put it all back together (with no left over parts lol) and started her up fires up on the third attempt. the noise from the rockers on the near side bamk sounds like a tractor .run it for a few mins and waited to see if they quieten down as the oil fills them, still getting a niose from the back set of rockers so take off the cover and rocker shaft remove the push rods and then proceed to check the lifters buy using a spare push rod seven of them have no movement as you push down on them the eight has about a 1/8th or more movement as you push down
so am i thinking that this lifter is buggerd? even when new the lifters should not have any movement on them even with out the oil ? any thoughts as i am thinking that i will need to remove intake manifold and valley gasket and replace this one OR do i put her back together and hope that it will fill and quieten down? cheers guys
