Wanted D90

New Member
I am planning on getting a Defender90, and i need to know what the options are for lifting a Defender90. And how much for that lift.

hmmmm just thinking of that myself but to be honest i would leave it standard! I have done some pretty hairy off roading in mine and i find standard is fine!!!!

anything more than a 2" lift requires you to change a lot of parts, like radius arms, prop shafts and steering track rod (the one which connects to the large ball joint to the steering box), brake pipes.... as once lifted the angle and the length of these are pretty much off and by "stretching" them, they'll break easily.

35" tyres do fit with 2" lifts. Just need to adjust a few nuts for the steering to prevent rubbing and trim the eye brows.

but ya, fit a kit that allows for more axel drop / travel would be a better option as wheels on ground = traction. don't lift if you can. besides it's eleminates you from all the covered garages in town (maybe in singapore only). Get good tyres and you're set to ride thru the jungles.

I agree, after following a standard D90 the other day up a pretty hair raising rock/boulder strewn track, I'd say that it is probably more capable than you (no offence intended) in standard spec without the need to have a lift.

Unless you want to do some serious rock crawling (Moab style) then spend your money on a decent set of tyres, that will make much more difference than a lift.

Matt.
