Sorry to bump an old thread but this is relevent to me and better than just starting a new thread for the same response.
I've picked up a set of HD shocks and springs from a V8 i found in breakers, looks to be a 2" lift as well.
Gonna replace both front shocks as one was bent in a accident, but i've got a complete doner truck that i've just stripped the front axle off (back coming off too), my plan is to clean it up paint it and generally get as much done to it then just replace my axle.

Was going to get polybushes however after reading this thread i'm not so sure. Looking on foundary4x4 i've found various standard bushes but i'm not sure which ones i should go for. Sorry my LR knowledge is still basic which ones should i get?

Also who sells the brake lines? ebay listings are confusing and don't seem to say if there standard or extended.

One more, i'm also fitted the gearbox, transfer box and props from the doner, is there anyway of figuring out which UJ's if i don't have the correct chassis number?

After all that .. I have HD springs fitted, standard size, but because they're HD they don't sag, so give an effective lift of about 40mm ... damn near 2". No issues with anything really. ;)

Got front pair free off a mate, and rears off ebay for ~£20 ... cheapest lift kit going methinks ... ;)

It is quite a bit harsher when empty, but I normally carry a lot of stuff with me and mostly with wife and family too, especially when towing.

Overall the feel is sharper, still get body roll but not as much and takes a set much easier if you want to push it. Offroad it's less compliant than normal 9softer) springs, obviously, so a bit compromised. When we get another tow car and the Disco becomes solely for odd caravanning and mostly off-road then I'll revert back to softer, but longer, springs to get back the offroad suppleness. Anyone who's been out with me would say it doesn't compromise it too much! But I can feel it .. ;)
