jai... there is a path around that hole, which people have driven through when faced with that hole.

the path is off the byway, so I thought, keep to the byway, dont do the same as the others have done... so I gave it a go to try and make a point of staying on the byway.

I wasnt there for 1h trying to go up.. tried about 3 times, didnt make it, reversing all the way back was impossible, so I had to follow the path others had done...the reason I went in the hole was also with the thought of not churning the path around leaving it more difficult to pass with standard vehicles, as I'm more off road prepared i thought of going where others couldnt as so leaving the easier path untouched.

to be honest I dont think any standard vehicle without mud tyres can go up that hill as for some reason that hill is made of very sticky clay, very soft and sticky, never seen anything like that

dont paint me with the brush that im out tearing up the country side...
just off another byway there's a massive area where people have been driving up and down banks and looks more like a pay&play site... did I go there? no I didnt as i thought it wasnt right doing so.

JP its not what you've done or have not done. Frankly i don't mind if you want to destroy lanes or are there being good. Its perception to those outside that want to leave us without any lanes. We have to be careful what we'post pics of. Pics like that have been used to close RoW in our area and many others one pic can destroy many fun moments. LZ has had its fair share of bad laning pics not as bad as many but 1 is too many. All i'm saying is thay I think it shows us in a bad light take that as you will. Many people are working hard to preserve our right and things like this do not help.

it seems too many people are quick to jump to conclusions and sit there polishing there halos,

lanes are there to be enjoyed and i along with yourself and others have enjoyed them

you know youve obeyed the rules so fair play

Is this something still to do with what I said 2 years ago that I drove through that big area, known as the fish pond, without using difflock or even lows and you said that was impossible? lol :D

I didnt get stuck as you point out, I just didnt make it up "the wall".... :)

forgot who that was to be honest. Just pointing out that pics like that could be used against all green laners. There are soo many clubs and peopleclearing, maintaining and fighting to save the lanes pics similar to your one doesn't help. I' didn't say you were off pist ormdriving illegally just that the pic is not helping us to maintain a good position to keep our lanes open i'm certain that the lane in question will get TRO'd by the powers that be soon. It simply needs somone to complain and copys your pic to the council. I see that as a huge loss another lane lost maybe its not a huge deal to others but i care passionatly because we arel losing lanes left right and centre because of pics/, people getting stuck for a hours asking locals for help, people driving an a mannor considered reckless by locals and of course twots going off pist. It only takes a few complaints and a picture to get a lane TRO'd councils will do this in a heart beat its expensive but once done will save the council lots of money.

We can deal with the pics ourselves tis easy maybe others either do not care or do not see what effort has been put in my the few that wish for the lanes to be kept open.
 
mate.... to be honest I think you are exagerating that a little bit... you almost sound like a cry baby...

if we all were to think like that, no one would enjoy any of their hobbies or life!!!

Lets not go out on our motorbikes anywhere near houses because people might get annoyed and start a ban on motorbikes...

lets not go shooting over those fields because people might complain.

etc..etc...

so reading between the lines we shouldnt drive lanes and or take pictures,cos if we do the right to drive them might be taken away.

but if we dont drive them and/or take pictures then knowone will complain and we can continue to not drive them for as long as we like
 
Totally off the subject sorry :eek: But JP I love your Defender! The orange with the black ally looks brill! :p Back onto discussion, If you need it mate do it, I mean if you were doing a lot of swimming then you'll need a snorkel so if you don't have enough ground clearance then that should need a lift kit! or bigger tyres (but yours are big enough!)

i only drive the extreme lanes, thats what thay are there for :p

chapelgate, Roych Clough going up, Walna Scar

if its not a challenge its not worth doing

loads of extreme lanes if you look hard :p
 
when you had yours for sale i thought about selling mine and buying yours, but yours was so nice that I would cringe everytime i try a narrow lane.... as mine was cheap I dont care :D
