Apologies if this has been done to death before...

1986 110, originally a 12 seater but now down to 5 due to rear benches removal and cubby box fitted. Glass sides all round, LEZ exempt, right?

Same vehicle, but with glass rear quarter panels removed and tin utility sides fitted. Still LEZ exempt?

Obviously still 4 doors plus rear door, permanent seats and seatbelts all round.

I've read that you can't get a van, and fit seats etc, call it a csw, and get exemption, as the dvla won't reclassify it.

Who knows if the rule works both ways?

I think that I'm correct in saying that all that matter is whether TFL have it classified as exempt or not.

If it was registered as a CSW when new it should be exempt.
