So, I just ordered a snorkel but looking at my fender the rubber thing (don't know what the technical term is) has split down the middle, is this normal or do I need a new one or just glue it together ESR2102.jpg, also there is a "Y" piece at the bottom of the intake pipe, am I right in saying that this needs removing?[/ATTACH]

Thanks Robert

The rubber bung is to let water drain out. Just silicone it closed. The Y piece is probably also the same, again just silicone it

The 'dump valve' on the airbox collects all sorts of debris and (as Wolfy said) is designed to let any the water out etc. A new one (STC1102) is around £18. I've put a cloths peg on mine and open it from time to time to let any crap out.

The cap on the Y piece is similar (I believe) although mine has been glued on - I presume normally it can be easily removed to empty any crud out.
