I was looking at putting a lesiure battery in the 90 for running an additional 12v heater in the cab and back.

Has any one done similiar and can point to somewhere on-line for wiring supplies/components and diagrams etc?

Oh FFS!! :search: fitting a 2nd battery has to be in the top 10 most common Mods to do to your landrover.

OMG WTF SOZ

How about not being such a ####

I was more after someone who'd fitted similar, any recommended heaters or suppliers.

Hang around some one will be along shortly to offer to fit it for you.. Like I said try doing a fecking search.

I have one of these which I fitted but it runs off the main battery. I only run it with the engine turning. At the time it was about the best I could find that gave out a bit of heat.

12 Volt 12v 300W Ceramic Fan Heater Marine Motorhomes Car Boats Caravans etc | eBay

I've seen those and wondered if they're actually any good with heat :scratching_chin:(as you say only when the engine running!) cos they do a 600W one too! (50Amp?!!)

Trouble is Gooders if you fit a leisure battery just for the purpose you'll have to charge it some how, pretty quickly with that sort of draw and that then might mean the cost of an intelligent split charge system as well won't it? (Good tho they are!)

I've got a 90 CSW (300tdi). If you get the heating system working properly (clean good heat exchanger, flushed system and working thermostat) and plug any drafts the normal heater is fine even when its minus temperatures outside.

Agree mate, same motor as you, the heater is great, have to switch it off after a while, gets too warm. Just needs setting up right.

Cheers,

The thermostat has started playing up recently so was planning to replace. but the heating has never worked well.

I'll Check the heat exchanger and flush system at the same time and see if I can get it working.

It does help, but I wouldn't rely on just the ceramic heater. My 110 has a large area to heat up an the 200TDI's are known to be a cool running engine.
I have changed three thermostats including a 88 degree one, three senders, removed the Viscos fan and fitted a Kenlowe electric one. Rad muff.Flushed out the system, flushed out the heater matrix. Mine takes about 20 minutes before the engine warms up so this ceramic heater does help. Don't bother with these lower watt ones, they would be useless. These are a bit on the expensive side, but where I live it can get down to -18C.
