the get out of jail clause, is that the mot is only really valid for the day the car passes.
anything else can be put down to wear and tear after the event.
very difficult to prove otherwise.

but we all know that certain items dont go really fookin pear shaped in a few weeks.
 
Mine not helped by the fact the the MOT done 2 weeks and 200 miles before Ibought it - dealer been running around in themselves, too hard to prove anything now :(
 
Every item on a vehicle has a wear and tear expectancy on life.
Im pretty convinced if you just approached the subject, mentioned going to the ministry, the garage would cough up something as "a goodwill gesture".
I'll act on your behalf if you wish for a small extortionate fee.
