Hey marmaduke thanks for trying anyway!

Wanting some kind soul in the Markfield area to go check out an old disco for me and see how bad it is rusted. Description says it will need welding on inner and outer sills to pass next MOT but with it only costing £1150 it's worth a look, however don't want to drive somewhere over 1 hour away to discover it's a complete mess!

I take it that's a D2 discovery and not a D1 cos £1150 seems a lot for a Disco that won't pass its next MOT and to be honest if I recommended it I'd steer clear as I only ever seem able to buy complete sheds when it come to second hand cars:(

Yes it's a D2, 3 door, L plate. Looks in good condition but as said needs welding to sills.

That's a Disco 1 not a 2. I paid £650 for a 1996 Disco 1 that needed welding just after Christmas (I only wanted the engine). That seems expensive if it's not going to pass its next MOT

D2's have TD5 engines in them not 300tdi, someones bought it now anyway

That's why I love this site, as a newbie I'm always learning more and more stuff about landrovers :D
But it hasn't gone seller has re-listed it at £999.

Just average really. Quite flat n unchallenging but better than gardening etc.

Hi jacobscreek very new to the land rover scene and live in melton will you be doing these lanes again any time soon as i would be very interested in joining you
Regards
Chris

Unlikely Chris as it's quite a drive there for me for lanes that are only a fraction of the quality of lanes when I head West to Shrops and Wales. You would be welcome to tag along there though.

Me and a few mates are local to shtopshire wales jacob if your out and bout let us no few weeks before and we will sort something out if you want mate

Balls! my LROI subscription ran out just before the May edition! DAMN! I would have loved to have got it! does anyone want to sell it to me please?

I know a few lanes around south leicester, but would be good to find some more north and west of the city.

If / when any of you guys go out again please let me know so I can tag along.

Thanks

Is anyone up for a day out in these areas soon? I know some tracks in Leicester, Twycross and know a few in Coalville although we went down one and got shot guns pointed at us by farmers so not sure what's open and closed down there anymore, know a few in Melton Mowbray as well which are good. Just need loads of rain as the ground is still hard at the moment! PM me :)

Id be up for it sometime? From the Warwickshire area so not too far

Going to warickshire would be good, do you know of any decent lanes round there? I'm kinda bored of the leicester lanes now. Would be good to find some up in derby too

There's a great ford crossing not far from Sheepy Magna, it's a tad deep though especially when the rivers up

River was low ish roughly wheel centre depth when I went through it last weekend to 'test' the new disco :D,

The bank on the sheepy side is starting to drop away as you come up to it so (nearly a foot drop down to waterside now) about 8 foot out from the waters edge) so don't drop off it unless your sure you can get back up if rivers too deep to drive through.

Also there's a massive lump of concrete under the water on the right hand side about 4 foot from the bridge so keep left when going through as its not visible unless you look down from the bridge like I did before going through
