I tried to put the lights on recently and the switch would only go from off to side lights. So I used some violence on it and it promptly broke! Leaving me with the side lights stuck on.
I striped down the switch unit and found the 3 posn light switch was very sticky, I cleaned this off and tried to glue the broken plastic lever back together.
No luck, but I did have some inspiration and recognized that the plastic lever was about the same size as some Lego parts. I made the parts and stuck it in, job done (pics). The original switch was jammed on and it looked just the same - only a bit slacker.
This served me well until the replacement arrived today!

Now my son has his Lego back.

I think we should tell LR about his fred. Freelanders made of lego would be much betterer than the current build.
