Hi,
OK I'm probably being lazy but I don't want to strip the dash out just to check what flasher i have, so I'm asking LOL

I'm swapping my lights over to LED and I know I need to change the flasher unit, can anyone tell me what I need to get as far a s how many pins and what one to get please???

Thanks Andy

It should be tucked up to the right as you sit looking at the steering wheel. If you get your head in above the pedals and have a rummage with a torch you should be able to pull it down coz it has very long wires. Mine had a two pin flasher relay so changed it for similar in LED flavour. The only problem I have is it dunt tick when in use.

Series landys with hazard flashers have two flasher relays, you will need to change both. I think the hazard relay has 3 pins but not sure.

OK so I have a 4 way flasher but only 2 wires are connected ?!?!?!?!?!
Its also well attached to the bulk head as well !

So do I get a LED flasher with 2 wires or 4 LOL

Look again. I thought you needed 3 or 4 wires for a flasher. Otherwise how will it know left or right hand turn?

Not if its the supply to the switch - it just flashes and the turn switch sends it the right way. I spent (wasted) ages getting my flashers working with hazards and wiring lights and LEDs and to be honest I got it working but never really worked out what made the sucessfull set up different for the unsuccessful ones.

this is 1972 so nothing as complex as needing all of then going at the same time.......... I did think about a beacon on the roof, maybe do that one later

I guess ill order a 2 pin flasher and see what happens lol

I had your problem but I ended up getting a 2 pin flasher unit of a fella on eBay who sells a lot of Land Rover stuff and then I bought a rdx hazard relay all work great,

You just need a electronic flasher it flashes when current flows independant of the current flowing usually 4 pin so you can add trailer lights and get dash warning from it.

I could never get my adjustable flasher unit to work in mine so fitted some resisters inline with the indicators instead

Despite buying an electronic flasher that was supposed to be "LED ready" I never got it to work with LEDs and went back to normal bulbs.
