since the search function seems to throw a wobble.....

having had my 90 for over 10 year - the single best thing i did (besides the 200tdi heart replacement) was fit Wipac LEDs for indicators and brake/sidelights

Who has LED headlights and what did you fit. ?

noticing a lot more options on E marked headlights- also noticing they dont all look ghastly like they just came out of pimp my ride. - see a majority of the ebay offerings and the bearmach lynx. - or even worse the "halo" from wipac.

anyone got the Trucklite ECE 7" set up.

If the 90 passes her MOT without too much effort next month i'm looking to update the headlights over the summer for next winter as this year has been pretty grim thanks to all the euroboxes having superior lighting leaving me near blind with my candles.

Likewise does anyone make a sealed unit LED reversing light/foglight in the classic rectangular design rather than the round NAS design ?

I know i could just stick LED bulbs in the existing units but its the contacts that usually give up rather than the bulbs.

Hi. I did a lot of searching on this. and checking out other peoples lights. cheap LED units didn't seem great on dip, still dazzling people. Decent dip being my priority as i have to dodge deer & ponies in the new foreest I'm afraid i went for crystal lenses, uprated wiring harness and illegal high watt halogen bulbs. beam cut off is excelent and i never dazzle anyone when i'm on dip

When i say cheap they are still 210 quid. I'm not looking at the 40 quid jobs off ebay - those look horrific.

I have crystals , boomslang and nightbreakers. - and yes i probably just need to change the bulbs as the hue is now very yellow - but for anyone who has a winch bumper and light guards on will tell you - changing light bulbs is a mega pain in the RS

Bearmac make the rectangle led lights. Fitted now for over 2 years no faults.
You would not know these are different

cheers hicap .

i currently reverse up my drive with the hazards on because the reverse light rarely works without hitting it and im fed up replacing the units with more cheap ****e units.

I have had Nolden LED headlights fitted since 2014, do the job ok.

I know what you are saying about the look of some LED offerings and while I wouldn't let that sort of thing be a deal breaker for me (at the end of the day it is quality of light output that I am after) it did cross my mind when choosing between the three makes that were available at the time (Nolden, Trucklight or JW Speaker).
I chose Nolden because they were the brand used by LR (Trucklight were cheaper and JW Speaker had a better warranty) and I suppose a bonus was that out of the three, they are the ones that look more like a conventional headlight.

I know you say you don't want the round NAS style reverse & fog on the rear but LR did fit them to later vehicles in place of the rectangular ones and they are powerful / effective units (also if you buy the OE Le Perei units they don't have that horrible chrome finish of other makes). A bonus is that they are 1000% waterproof.
Mine are doubled up (twin fog & reverse) and the effect is brilliant, makes reversing into dark spaces even in heavy rain (when visibility is at its worst) a breeze.

Headlights are one of the best mods I’ve done although they weren’t (and aren’t) cheap.

What voltages are you getting at the bulb holders?

not a scooby right now. - they are plenty bright on main beam its just the dips that are lacking like a couple of ****y candles.

Driving up the lane to my.house it transpires that the issue is not with my lights. They are plenty bright.

How ever with the gigawatts being pumped out by other cars coming towarss my lights are reduced to two tiny puddles.

Bulbs wear out over time, dim dipped could well mean worn bulbs, you use dip a lot more than full so they wear out faster.
My lights are standard and they are plenty bright.

indeed but when not faced with mega bright white LED lighting in my face from all the audis and the like.

my dim/dipped lights are more than adaquate with plenty spread and throw - in as much that i dont really need my high beams for the unlit lane to the house.

but on the main A road.... they look like dim orange puddles.

its a phenomenon i've noted on my other car as well which is a 2005 iveco daily - known for poor headlights. - even with brand new nightbreakers they are poor when mixing with other traffic - on their own on the lane they are grand.

I fitted these headlights with WIPAC led side light kit from Getoffroad, lights all around are much improved. But I constantly get people flashing me with the headlights dipped.

Can you adjust them?
Mine are on a MY12 110 and I can adjust their elevation up to 5 increments.

I’m Going to order some new bezels & headlight surrounds, I’ll try have a play around with them to see if it that helps a bit... I think they are just generally bright though. Most of these new cars with neon headlights are so dazzling though...

Its a massive problem, and its getting worse, especially when people are fitting high powered lamps to vehicles that arnt really designed for them,.

And when you meet one on a corner, especially when the head lamps are at your face level, goodbye eye balls, hello cataracts, who put that lamp post there.
