That's a neat repurpose of the existing circuit. :) ideally you'd use the red/orange sidelight feed to trigger the relay rather than dipped beam.

THE RELAY TRIGGERED BY BLUE RED TO ELIMINATE DIPPED AND DAYLIGHT RUNNING ON AT SAME TIME ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT IF YOU USED THE RED ORANGE YOU IN AFFECT ALLOW DIPPED OR MAIN BEAM ON
WITH THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LAMPS IN DAY OR NIGHT CONDITIONS

Dipped beam will still function as it should, as the blue/red wires are joined together. But by using the red/orange wire, it just means the DRL will turn off or dim as soon as the side lights are switched on which is how they're supposed to work.

then why would you need an ignition feed in the first place if as you say the side light will cause them to dim or switch off defeat the whole object of running a ignition fed supply
when the side light connection is all ready at the lamp .they only dim if the dim dip relay is left in circuit ,this can be disabled by removing the resistor, fitting a overpriced land rover link in the form of a relay module
or joining the blue red wires together ,you can also remove the guts from your dim dip relay and link 30 to 87 as the land rover link relay and plug it in .

I see what you're getting at. So with your circuit, the supply to the DRL side is cut completely when the main headlamps are switched on. With the OP's integrated lamp units, the DRL will be on bright with the light switch off, dim when the side lights are on, and off when the main headlamps are on.

But with basic DRLs that don't have an inbuilt controller, the side light connection would be needed at the relay to switch them off whenever any other lights are switched on.

View attachment 192018 the red and orange cable was left in old relay base but is not connected to the new relay so could be removed the ignition feed white/green feed the daylight running lamps providing the dipped beam is not switched on in the event you switch the dipped beam light on the day light running lamps switch of if you switched to main beam you would get daylight running lamp on ,if you flashed you would have daylight running on ,if you switch you side lights on you would have the daylight running on as well but under normal driving conditions the daylight would only work alone or aid the side lights .so as soon as you switch on the daylight running lights are active with or without the side lights ,if you switch your dipped beam on the daylight running are switched off this stops you from blinding some poor individual during night time running unless you want to then it main beam an daylight running on . if you wanted to disable them totally then you would require a switch in circuit isolating the ignition feed C0048-2 or in circuit with the black ground cable C0048-6 to isolating it NOTE THIS MOD IS ONLY SUITABLE FOR LED'S DUE TO CABLE SIZE FEEDING RELAY( GW) rated at 11amps

THX VERY Much for all ur info on this
however it has only made me think i should not be attempting this "plug n play" fitment myself

apprec info guys
