Hi. Trying to remove guage cluster to fit LEDs on LHD 90.. Do I have to remove more than just the guage cluster panel or dash and other too? To free of more space, I was hoping to disconnect the speedometer cable but even reaching the connector is a challenge.. Not breaking anything would be a bonus too :) Can I disconnect the other end of cable to provide slack?

I did the same to mine (RHD) When you loosen the binnacle it's always tight to pull it forward with all the cables. You do need need much of a gap to pull the bulb holders out of the back of the instruments. It is a bit fiddly, but they are just a push fit. Gentle pulling pressure with a bit of a wiggle should do it:)

Thanks! You said your bulb sockets are push on.. mine appear to have the green threads which the bulb socket plugs/pushes into.. I thought the same and think it broke loose. Touched up w tab of jb weld at housing edge to hold. I'm assuming they are all that way but wonder why some are push on vs. screw

I see what now!
Mine were all push in

 Why are you taking the gauges out?
Believe me.. it was not my intent starting out!! Once that threaded extension was loose, I couldn't reattach the bulb connector. Reluctant now to do the rest.. Removing the one temp unit allowed me to stabilize the thread for reinstall of bulb :-/ but doing rest.. I may need more room. Thus.. question on more slack w accelerator unit

Hold on, is that turquoise, plastic insert not threaded on the outside and smooth on the inside?

I don't know?
Did you unscrew that turquoise connector out of the gauge?

I dont think.. thread was loose and fell in when the bulb was pulled out and it wouldn't push in. The white casing around the bulb connector looked like it had the threade female end within white connector so figured that turquoise piece attached within. Not home but will check it out again when I get there....

Ok.. just pulled up pic of another guage which shows the white piece extending out. Guess I need to reasses. If I did unscrew the white from the turquoise which caused it turn run loose... I may still be on right track to reinstall this one guage. Will attempt the pull off push on concept next Hope that was it..

This is what the back of my gauges looks like. Can't remember what is under the white plastic tubes or if I even pulled them off. Black bits at the end are the bulb connectors.

Should have said those black bulb connectors are just a push in fit to that white tube.

I will check it out.. just hard getting in there. Will retake look at bulb connector plug and white tube when home. Thank you all.........

It is tight. Might be tighter LHD as some cables may have to reach a tad further.

Did this Blue LED dash a while ago, very happy with it, not everyones cup tea, but then again i don't make tea for others!
V bright light on left of second pic is alarm I fitted behind binnacle glass, camera caught it when it was flashing.
You need to use 360 degree 'cob' led's which I now have fitted else you get a spot projection on the heater controls as in the picture.
I used 501 push fit holders, they are collapsable so will fit a variety of holes, and come with plenty of cable £99p each.
See here for the LED headlight and full vehicle conversion.
