I've got a set of 1980's VDO gauges for oil press/temp, Air temp and coolant temp I'm going to fit in the 110. These are fitted to Audi 80 and MK1 Golfs and readily available on Ebay. Question is were do you get the bulb holders and LED bulbs, if they are even available? Want to do this to match with my other gauges that have funky blue light up LEDs.

from people that sell vdo gauges

Its actually a lot more difficult than that. VDO have made loads of different styles and types over the years.

I tried Croytec some years back but no joy unless thwy were the same as the Defender ones. The VDO ones I have are much smaller holders/bulbs.

Best bet is to search holders on auto electrical stores or take the gauge into one. It is bound to be a generic holder, its just locating the correct one which is difficult at best using part numbers.

thanks, like you say they're smaller than the Landy ones. Will just have to try around, like you say. If all else fails, I will try the dealer:eek:

what size are the holes? You can often get classic car bulb holders on ebay. Durite usually do various size holders too.

I spose it depends on the type of bulb as to whether an LED equivelent is available.

A quick search for runner bulb holder on ebay comes up with...

rubber bulb holders | eBay

Any of these any good?

DURITE ELECTRICAL GAUGE REPLACEMENT BULB 12 VOLT 052391 | eBay

L@@K NEW FOR 2012 T10 WEDGE BULB HOLDER WITH LEAD CAR TRUCK BUS | eBay

Sidelight / Pilot / Parking Light Bulb Holder 12volt | eBay

If the hole is too small on your gauge you could drill it out and then fit summit like those above. If that's no use then you could fit a grommet to the hole and then push and led bulb into the grommet. As LED's generate no heat you don't have to worry about the rubber gromet melting.
