I've currently got all the roof lining out as just resealed both the sunroofs with plenty of black silicone under the plastic trim.
Whilst I'm at it I noticed that both sonroofs go back only half way and don't tilt.
The only way I've managed to fully open them is by pushing the glass up from the inside and then using the motor.
Any ideas?
Have had a good search around but found nowt, would like to sort it now to avoid pulling all the trim out at a later date.
Thanks :)

Strange thing is I've had both the sunroofs out and in bits to get them cleaned up & degreased ready for fresh sealant - there was no signs of anything missing or broken

that's why I just decided to replace them...I have a replacement ready for the front, when I get round to doing it I will look closely and see if I can work out what's wrong and then may be fix the rear one

Did you unplug and remove the motors if so was it with the roof closed or open, if open the motors drive cog could now be out of alinement. As both have the same fault there may be a problem with the sunroof ECU.

Hi Discool, I removed the motors whilst the glass was closed, although the problem was already there.
Is there a method to check the alignment? Maybe the previous owner buggered them by removing the motors..

ECU reset?

Thanks

Thanks, will have another butchers when I get home.
Although the glass needs to tilt somewhat to fully open..

Press the button once for tilt, press again to fully open press again to close.

The motors micro switch should be 'open' to cut power when the roof is closed and therefore in line for the sunroof operation.
You can check that with a meter or with the motor removed the micro switch operating button should be laying in the recess cut into the large red or white wheel, if it isn't then you will either power the motor to move the wheel or by pressing in to the hole a 4mm allen key to disengage the motor allowing you to turn by hand.
have you tried opening/closing by hand?
