OK after several years in the wilderness, Jeep I am afraid, I have been tempted by an LPG 4.6 Autobiography bought yesterday.

So of course being a rangy there are a few problems:

1) The LPG tank is in the spare wheel compartment. This compartment is very wet as is the side boot carpets. The chap I bought it off thinks is all about condensation from the LPG tank but I doubt it. I am assuming its coming in via a rear door seal or somewhere else. I am sure this is not the first time this one has come up.
Your thoughts please?

2) The glove box will not open though the key dose seem to lock and unlock. Any ideas on how to open to effect a repair?

3) Of course the central locking isnt working but am assuming key fob batteries etc.

4) When i press the brake pedal the ABS and TC lights come very briefly.
Any ideas why and is this an issue or just annoying?

5) The temperature guage is only showing just above the cold zone
Is this a temp sender problem?

No doubt there will be more

Cheers Will

You're correct it's not the first time. Leaking tailgate seals along with the modification to the lip has been written about many times. Can I suggest a little play with the forum search button?

This could very likely be the start of a serious issue possibly involving the brake pump and/or the accumulator. Mind you it could be a wheel sensor but do you want to take the chance? I'd get this investigated and sorted pronto.

5) The temperature guage is only showing just above the cold zone

Does your heater get hot? If yes then it's a sensor/gauge problem.

No doubt there will be more

Welcome back from the dark side - to the even darker side.

The brake problem could be a spent accumulator, therefore every time you press the brake its lost all the stored energy instead of having a nitrogen buffer. The pump runs everytime you press the pedal if this is case. This happened to me and the abs pump relay stuck on burned the pump out and lost all brakes.

Get it checked out, might not be this, but be carefull.

Thanks for all the advice Genlemen.
I found rear tailgate seal article so will have a go.

The Heater does throw out some heat but will try a higher temperature tomorrow and see what is does. I just hope that the thermostate hasnt been removed due yo over heating. My last rangy ended up overheating and blowing headgaskets . The cure was ne rad, viscous fan and some sort of block sealer. Very expensive exercise.

Fingers crossed then.

It going into thre garage on Tuesday for a full service and so they may find what the problem is.

ALARM FAULT comes up when key goes in so I guess that is the central locking issue. Problem is I dont have an emergency code number. Typical.
Any idea where and how I can get this code number?

Thanks chaps

Cheers

Check out the photo thread i did last week on clearing the rear sunroof drain seals, cured my wet wheel well problem.

I'm a diesel driver so not an expert on V8s but I didn't think that you could run these without a stat. Isn't this the octopus one in the plumbing?
As for the EKA code you can get it from a dealer. Some will give it out over the phone but some ask to see the V5 and some other ID.
