Busy fixing both sunroofs. During heavy rain loads of water is leaking in the car, coming from behind the sunroofswitches. Took the headlining out and both sunroofs. Draintubes are very okay, so reckon it is either or both the kit or rubberseal under glass. Started applying new kitlayer. Used caravankit that will stay soft. Called
permakit which every caravandealer can supply. I have placed the headlining back: took me much longer than taking it off. Reckon I can replace the rubberseals later if necessary, and headlining doesn't have to come off. Or am I wrong here?

You can replace the rubber seals beneath the glass with sunroofs in position .
However having repaired leaks in a 300 Tdi and a Td5 I found that in both cases the problem was the seal between sunroof frame and vehicle roof .
The original seal was almost non existent ; I removed the frames in each case , put a good bead of Tiger seal around each frame and then dropped it back in the roof and tightened up . Problem solved .
As you have the roofs and headlining back in place you could run a bead of sealant around each frame where it meets the roof . Can often do the job just as well.

I've just done my 98 reg disco 300tdi. The seal below the glass had a tiny little gap in the passenger side so I ran a bead of grease around it with my grease gun and haven't had any leaks since. I'll eventually replace the seal when I get some spare ££.

or just silicone them up, people never use them anyway... least ways I dont

Have a look back in November 2009 for "Leaking Sunroof" their is quite a few good hints. I am all for 'Captain Tollies Crack Cure' . Mine is still water tight 2 years later

done mine with silicone grease last year and had no probolems.

Thank you all for the advise, today it rained c&d's and both roofs remained watertight. So I guessed it was time well-spend and the best is I reckon I have saved a few quid. In due time I will replace the rubbers by Peugeot 106 rubbers, as I have read somewhere that these match the Disco's sunroof.

from experiance with same probs on TD5.
I f drains outlets are ok it will be geting under the mani sunroof frame and car roof.
Its a big job to take complete sunroof out, so i run the silo gun round about every 6 mths.
Disco bodies flex alot which brakes down the seal
