My local garage has sealed the areas where they think water is coming in via the sunroof and although some improvement still leaking through the sun visor backing fixture on passenger side. He said the drain tubes were ok so is it worth me buying a brand new sunroof seal off e bay and getting that fitted? He reckons about 2 hours labour.

Faulty seals are the only thing that 'let' water in from sunroofs, so replace them and it will be fine, the body to sunroof frame uses sealant now and will take longer than two hours.

Yep as discool said it will be the seal that's gone . And it will be the roof to frame . Not frame to glass .

don't forget the point where the roof rails attach, that is a common water entry point also.

I dont think he can do that job properly in 2hrs. All interior trim above the dash and door sills require removing to allow headliner removal. When thats out, I would reseal both sunroofs and as said, roof rails. Also check both alpine windows for leakage. Remove trim above rear door and check for roof panel separation as well.
