Evenin' all. I noticed today, a few drops of water on the drivers side sun visor when I pulled it down. There was also a few drops in the little shelf/document holder.

Does anybody know where the source of this leak could be? Is it likely to be the sunroof, or maybe coming through where the roof rail bolts on? Any help much appreciated as usual. (Disco 1 300tdi).

either of the above as well as windscreen leaking.

Cheers Red. Was hoping to investigate today, but I was called into work. I kind of ruled out the windscreen, as it is a lot lower than where the water is coming through. Even with wind blast, I couldn't see it being blown up into the roof that far (or can it?).

there loads on info and how to on ere if ya take a look

I did look, and yes, loads of sunroof leak info, but I was looking for a specific thread that mentioned water around the drivers sun visor, and couldn't find anything. I also assumed (maybe wrongly) that a sunroof leak would just weep around the seal, that's why I expected the roof rail.

I just wondered if anyone has had the exact same problem. Sometimes searching is a pain in the arse because the threads are rammed full of the sort of ****e that I am typing right now.

you will be suprised how far water will travel away from where you think its coming from

Mine leaks from various locations, the most worrying is prolly the internal light fitting. As it drips, I just say 'Land Rover' and it makes it acceptable

I know what you mean bud. Its literally a couple of drops........I don't want to spend my few days of christmas off, ripping out half of the headlining and interior. Its 15 year old motor FFS. Might just put a bit of Sikaflex around the top corner of the screen seal (bit of a dodgy join there, so Red & WL could be right), and maybe a bit around the roof rail. I hope it ain't the sunroof. I was thinking how lucky I was having a Disco with 2 good sunroofs.

mine has leaked upper corners of windscreencorners? sorry my bad english. i taped it 1,5mm higher than seal, then got some silicone all over corners and voila! make sure you take the tape of before it dry. same threatment on roofrack bolt and antenna... and yes it rains too much now in here...snow has melted away :(

Cheers dude. Your English is actually very good, so don't apologise (better than some English people's English).

Just to update (if anyone is remotely interested), during a heavy downpour, while sat in traffic, water came in quite fast around the drivers side, just along from the sunvisor.

I spent a bit of time this morning trying to suss this out with a bottle of water, and I'm pretty sure its the roof rail mount. The rubbers have shrunk and dried a fair bit. I cleaned them up and sikaflex'd all around them. That stuff is much better to work with than silicone. And the disco is black, so it looks ok. Fingers crossed.

hi will check my roof rails as i have a few drips also from the map /viser area iv just put up with it but it is annoying,i think the foam under roof rail fixing drivers side has shrunk so maybe silicone it .

I had the same problem together with water on the seat belt - annoying when pulling the belt out without thinking and getting soaked! I'd read that vaseline around the sunroof seal would work. Gave it a shot and not had a problem since despite rain, snow, ice.

I put a continuous healthy smear between the sunroof seal and bodywork just in case there was a pinhole that I couldn't see. It looks as though it's hardened and doesn't wash off.

The water used to come in above the passenger visor and drivers B post but nothing has appeared since.
