Before I bought my Landrover I was warned it would leak. But I am hoping to track down the one that leaves puddles in the drivers and passenger footwell.

I suspect that water is making its way in via the window seal and running down inside the door (my door covers are off at the moment and I can see water sitting on the inside of the bottom of the door frame).

Before I prise off the outer window seal and possibly cause damage to the seal, does anyknow if there is a drain channel inside the door that water would be channeled down? I am hoping that I can put some sealant to prevent water making its way past the seal at either end - there appears to be a small gap where I suspect water is penetrating and I am hoping that I can plug this from the inside without blocking any drainage channels. I guess new seals are frightfully expensive?

Of course ill fitting doors and holes in the door frame plus holes in the bulkhead above the vents do not help matters, but that only appears to be a problem with driving rain from the rear of the vehicle - just like the last few days.

I have just changed the seals on all of my doors,

The front 4 doors cost about £8.00 each, however this is not genuine landrover stuff, so it needs to be trimmed. However does the job and easy to do.

I think the genunew landrover ones would cost about £20 (maybe a nit less).

Sounds like the same leak as mine. Door seals didn't make a difference so now I was thinking it might be the window seal or the front doors seem lower than the rear doors.

I don't think the window seals are to expensive I did check but would say try one first to see if it fixes the problem.

What you could do to see if it is coming in from the window seal is to tape over the seal and window. Leave it see if any water coming in.

I know its not a solution but the wind deflectors that you can put on a landy are a help in stopping rain water getting in and rotting the bottom of your doors. water gets through the rubber seal between the window and door frame, especally on older ones with cracked rubbers, mines an 89, and sits inside the doorframe, quietly rotting away your door. those wind deflectors help slow down this process.
