i have been told by the chap i got my disco from that it leaks water from the sun roof havent seen it myself but i havent drove it yet as there is a few thing to be done to it yet
iwas wondering if there was an easy fix for this im assuming it is commom any feedback appretiated cheers:confused:

seal them up !!

or

replace outer seals (check if the waste water drain offs are clear also )

if its the seal between the car and the sunroof body you'll have to drop the headlining and unbolt the sunroof frame itself then clear out any old sealant and then reseal with the gunge of your choice - personally i avoid the use of acid cure silicone on car panels but its your choice. then all you do is put the car back together without getting mucky fingerprints on the headlining like i did :eek:

When you drop the headlining you will see the drain pipes - 2 for each sunroof , one at each front corner . Having read a lot of posts re leaking sunroofs apparently these are rarely blocked - but it can happen . Or maybe one of them can get pinched between roof and headlining .
The boxes the pipes are attached to can also leak where they are attached to the sunroof frame . Clean off old sealant and reseal them .

just remember don't forget to do it as the leaky sunroof problem is why discos have a reputation for rotting boot floors.... someone once suggested to me to fit a rangie boot floor "cos they never rot" they won't will they? no sunroof leak no water no rot
mine sealed tighter than a ducks arse still get light in, the front one works ok but no water leaks onto the boot floor!!!!

If you search a thread "Leaking Sunroof" in the Discovery section quite a few replies cover this item, , Mine was for Captain Tollies Crack Cure which is still holding
Good luck.

I have a 1999 TD5 which had a consistent leaky front sunroof. Bought new seals and that did not make any differnet, altohugh the one son there were quite new already by the looks of it. I managed to get to the tubes by just taking all of the front fitments down, ie, grab handles, visors, map holder and light assembly etc. I found that the tubes were clear. Now, i know this might sound simple and obvious, but what cured mine was................the channel the seal sits in was a little dirty and i mean a tiny bit. I cleaned it out with a rag then with with some hand wipes and then finally with some alcohol wipes. When the seal went back in, it was like fitting a new roof unit. It has never leaked since.....................thank god.........!

Had similar and turned out to be broken outlet/drain pipe on passenger side. it's moulded as part of the plastic bin type thing in the corner of the frame. I manged to fix mine without removing the sunroof and with just half the headlining let down.
I used a piece of plastic tube forced and sealed into the existing pipe and fixed that into the corner bin/box using hot melt glue gun initally and then a good helping of a flexible sealant. I used a roof and gutter sealant, orrible black gooey stuff but does the job. hasn't leaked at all since even with all the snow and rain we've had

make sure you get it sorted soon as, i've had many a shower when pulling off, make sure you check your floor under the pedals, as i found that water was running down the A-frams and pooling there. Well what do you know found rust and had to replace the sills......

Well atleast i got to use my angle grinder yey..
