Hi there guys,

hope your well. Went to open the compartment in the boot, and there was water inside. Carpet dry, sort of, and loads of damp on the inside of the lid? Is this usual and is condensation, or is there a leak possible?

Cheers

a common problem,
on mine its condensation, if i leave the locker door wedged open, it stays dry, i tried drilling holes, 3 x 35mm holes in the plastic lid to help it breathe , but its still a problem ,
im now thinking of covering the inside of the lid with somthing?

Hi there,

Booked it into Stratstone, as it is still under warranty. Getting little cheesed off to say the least. Still waiting for the service history as well. In addition, dont know if a common characteristic, when driving at 50-55 mph, then let go of the gas, there seems to be a sort of wining noise, very slight from the front. Dont know if the gearbox or diff issue? What do you guys think?

Cheers

i had this prob and think like the others said it was condensation,

like jonh t i drilled holes in it but i ended up with loads of holes not just 3 and it seems fine now,
i used a 4mm bit and pepperd the lid with holes, worked a treat.

Cheers Guys. Will take the big drill out the shed!:)

Just ****ed off with Statstone. When I bought it, promissed service history, now 3 months down the line, still b**ls*it!. Now they have the nerve to get upset with me for chasing.

To Stop the Condensation On the Lid you can buy from a Landrover Dealer a Storage Insert made of plastic that has stopped all the damp and condensation in my underfloor compartment. And no more misty rear window:)

I had exact same problem..(05, 5 door model) the water level was actually above carpet level.Underside of lid was dripping big time but i didnt believe this caused that much water to accumulate..As under warranty i took it in..They replaced both rear wheel plastic under arch's and adjusted rear door for a tighter seal...To date it hasnt returned (only 1 month ago).A very common problem that ISNT just confined to earlier models as percieved by some owners.
