iv got a1979 landrover88" petrol with disco axles on .is it easy to put the leaf spring on top ov the axles as i keep snapin the trackrod bar on the springs.the trackrod bar as been modifide <ie>cut rewelded to go round the leaf springs. i need help.

if you are running the disco set-up with the track bar behind the axle you probably need to weld in a thicker saddle between the axle and leaf spring, lifting the axle and track rod clear of the leaf spring (penalty is you'll lose a little ground clearance) but then you should be able to use a straight track bar and avoid the weakness of a modified/stepped bar. I'm about to do it myself, and there's really good info/pics further down on the link below. (do I get extra points for using another forum ...?)

if you put the axle under the leaf spring you're gonna have some crazy angles for your propshaft UJ's and might need to consider dropping the engine/box downwards to compensate - or maybe fit double carden joints?
