If you bought a used one watch the mileage as the LCM stores a backup and rumour has it the cluster will pick the highest.

I believe it also puts a tamper dot next to the mileage. Can't remember what mine showed when I did it.

That was already there as it could’ve been from the replacement LCM before. We’ll see what happens.

In E39 BMWs, the tamper light shows up if the VIN in the LCM doesn't match the cluster.
The Milage updates in the whole car, to whichever one is highest, every 100kms... but in the system, that could be in 1 km, or in 99 kms...
I don't know about the Landy stuff, but I used "BMW Scanner 1.4" to update the VIN and got the LCM to use the correct milge BEFORE it updates the rest of the car.

Yes you can but when I did mine the LR software wasn't listed in the BMW scanner so I took a punt on the closest.
