I have not had the problem, but the info I get from the LR forums is that a symptom of the lock spring problem is the that the door 'pin' does not pop up fully as it should.

The CL actuator can also get slow due to lack of lubrication on the drive motor spindle within the actuator.

Replaced the spring but found that all the linkages were 'loose'.
Bought a replacement from a scrap vehicle instead.

I have the same problem, the lock appears to work but the door will not open - actuator or spring ????

mine went the other day, fixed it last night

i got an old scrap Frontera at home so took the passenger door CL motor off, drilled a hole for the different bracket, and connected up real easy.

feels better than new and not a penny to fix :D
