Can I wash my seat fabric trims in a washing m/c ? my fabric bits (1997 300TDI 90) are in very good condition just a bit grimy and very dusty, I'm thinking of stripping them off, washing them, fitting new foams and refitting. Is this feasible ?

An alternative to a plastic bag is to use stockinette over the foam, as used by upholsterers.A top tip for refitting seat covers. Put a soft plastic bag over the foam before refitting the cover and it will slip on much easier. The type of bag that you get your cloths back from the Dry cleaners is ideal.
