nope
went to chichester clay pit on Saturday and was amazed how well the Daihatsu went in the mud .my landrover has much narrower tyres and would therefore have less grip l guess So l wondered what l could fit on the landy to get good grip and thats it !
Just wanted an easy to answer question from you experts, still dont know what mods are needed so l am apart from having a laugh on here am no wiser.:D:)

well i'm no fan of wide tyres i'd stick to 235 85 R16's if i was buying tyres for offroad i'd buy insa turbo special tracks because they are meaty and have plenty of open self cleaning tread. 255 is well wide looks like a septi tank tuck and i don't rate these wide tyres for most of the UK mud.

mmm £87 and they look nice as it will drive to play areas what are they like on the road?

255-75-15
Isn't that big, only 30" diameter.
235/85R16 are 31.75". Narrower is better for mud in the UK and taller the better for added ground clearance. 235/85R16 fit with no issues.

I've got 9.00x16 which in Michelin XL are 36.5" diameter. Body and suspension mods are req'd.

If you've got standard swb rims and put 235/85/16's on they will hit the chassis/springs on full lock. You can adjust the steering stops but then it'll have a bigger turning circle than the QE2!
If you want to keep the original look get a set of lwb rims or forward control rims, these will sit further out so the tyres shouldn't hit the springs, but if not a nice set of modulars fit under the arches nicely without having to cut the body.

This is my series with 2" lift and 265/75/16 insa special track on 7" modular rims

just got these (not the child,i bought him ages ago) for the disco 265/75/16 insa traction track and I'm well impressed, not as good as the special tracks off road but still very good and a hell of a lot better on road

now were talking,l have a 2 inch Pro lift and the prop looks near to the gearbox x member will i need one of those wide angle props and how do l tell if i have the correct rims ?what offset am l looking for

The prop on mine used to hit the crossmember when offroading and the uj's used to wear out alot quicker, never had any major probs though, just fit freewheel hubs to stop any exess wear and vibration on road.

You should be able to tell if your rims are swb or lwb,the swb hardly have any offset at all, this pic shows the difference hope it helps
