West is most hardcore due to terrain and politics. East is easiest but more expensive. Your red route from Libya - Sudan/Chad is not possible. Its likely you will have to exit on the north road into Egypt.

Getting into Libya is a challenge in itself as the rules change often. Look at the Sahara Overland website for up to date info on all Saharan countries.

Paperwork.

Carnet.
Visa's
Travel insurance.
International driving license.
Pick up vehicle insurance and further visa's on the way.
Look into shipping before you go.

As I mentioned map is a bit old and old information was used for some routes, but thanks for feedback :)
That was there for reference only and not a likely route...

Indeed alternatives routes take you down through eastern Europe actually and Turkey, which are sometimes cheaper in carnet and politics since libya is out of the route...

Plenty of work to do before a trip, I know :)
I was just pushing route suggestions... no more...
