To offer a balanced newbie opinion, I joined last year, but only really started posting fairly recently. By using the search, and not asking dumb questions (most of the time), I've found most members to be helpful and friendly.

Ive always found the found to be full o' knobbers .. but nice friendly ones at that ;)

Have noticed its only the noobs who tend to have any sort of real attitude... if typing through a computer can actually be seen as that.

If new joiners cant take a bit of banter, then i wouldnt want to talk to them anyway. The boring tossers.

I still class myself as a noob as i havent been on for that long.

What's also interesting is the sheer variety of stuff people discuss on here. Pets, livestock, home improvementsm relationship advice, childcare, tattoos, toys people had when they were younger, radionucleotides and health. All human (and some non human) life is here. The whole world through a very small window.You wouldn't go to Relate and talk about servicing your Land Rover, but people do come here and talk about intimate relationships.
