I am out tomoz - with Snifflebag et al.

re tirfor - just thought it would be better than nought and portable. Otherwise it means a motor with winch has to attend :(

I has a TU31 Tirfor cost me £60 inc cable and a 5ft length of 35mm Rebar for an handle.

Another of me ebay sniping bargains

iv gorra 4 tonne one, never used fer recovery tho , was a present :) its good fer fencing jobs and pullin heavy scrap on me trailer ;)

tbh the one i use er was ex military seen it used to get bedford MT's and a scammell out of trouble once or twice. It wasnt cheap and weighs shed loads. Back in the 90's it was invaluable when going to Wales cos winches were so rare and only ever fitted to working landys.

Now days you can get a cheap winch for 200 quid every man, and his dog has one bolted thier vehicle weather that person is competant and safe to use one helping somone out is always questionable even tho its not rocket science there is alot of numptys out there!

Last year I went to a local lane and in the side of a small muddy patch was a small fiesta with a gentleman and his toddler in they had accidentally got themselves stuck after a walk. The man had called somone with a discovery and a winch.
Now this thing needed the slightest tug rearward mabe even a push, from where his wheels had started, anyways this guys there and drags the Fiesta through the **** ripping off exhaust and bent the front slam panel oh and the bumper was cut in half. I cant think why, afterall he used a strop and everything! He undid the bonnet wrapped a strop through under and around and winched. At a guess he wrote the car off. Cant have been worth much but the sad thing was the fiesta driver was a really sound guy. By the time I got there the car was destroyed and the cheeky bastid disco driver asked for fuel money. Some people should be banned from owning LR's!
Imagine the worst happened and somone got hurt cos some new member turns up and damages the car or worse the occupants because they are numptys. I know kris300 from our outings as does many others on ere and he is most definatly a top guy that knows what he is doing recovery wise. He did a great job as did MHM and all others involved,

I don't know what my point is here really I just had a bad thought yesteday when nobody was going to help at first I was reminded about that poor chap with the fiesta.

All credit to MHM he was monitoring everything and keeping everyone updated so they could help if need be without such members people wouldnt bother to help out as much I'm sure.

All credit to Snifflebag, Kris, Booger and Redwings for yesterday. I just stayed in the warm and dry.

I have to be the first tho - which numpty goes out on his own?
