Hi
My names is steve and I'm an alcoholic... Oh no wrong forum...!

Only kidding, Just saying hello to everyone hope you all had a great Christmas and have a great new year..
I am looking to buy a Land Rover in the new year and I have come across a bit of a mine field when it comes to choosing which model...
I will post a new thread in the correct area but advice would be much appreciated from experienced owners..

Kind regards

Steve:)

I'm no mechanic but I can do my own maintenance to a degree I live in SW London, I was looking at the Freelander but seem to come across reliability issues plus I prefer the 200tdi county I want to spend around 5000...

Please HELP!lol
Thoughts and advice needed...

well the freelander transmission probs read threads on gaylander section, landy your bigest problem will be rust. spend a bit of time reading posts. just remember gaylander is car based where as landy is more tractor with seats. Depending on what you are going to use it for and if daily drive disco might be middle ground for you. Get out and test drive different landys is the best. If your only used to cars a landy will be a big shock to you.

Thanks good advice... I will have a look at some disco's but had my heart set on a landy.. Its the LEZ Rip off thing that makes it a bit hard to find what is acceptable... Plus if rust is the only problem then reliability isn't then... which is what attracted me too them in the first place, sheet metal is less expensive than a gear box...
Cheers bud

lez your ok if it's reg. as an estate car station wagon csw, probs with lez are the commercial pick ups and van backs. Then you need to buy a v8 petrol.

V8 petrol Hahaha sounds cheap on fuel... Looks like I'm on the look out for a landy station wagon with a solid chassis, cross member and bulkhead for 5000... Do you think its possible to get one in good nik for 5 Gs..

loads about but snow tax prices high, have a look at as many as you can before you jump in and regret it, not a landy man as such i like the comfort of the disco. There is loads of info on her just have a read and a search. The boys will give you loads of help as long as you help your self and do research then if stuck ask the question. Stick around and enjoy

If you find some thing or want type the reg number in to hear to find out if it's LEZ compliant
