I'm new to the site but have owned a 1984 Landy Defender 90 for 18 months now. I would appreciate any thoughts members have on how much it might cost and best place to get it properly re-sprayed. Many thanks.

:welcome2:

have been a few threads on this recently so worth a search

Professionally you'll be in the £2k range

doing the prep yourself will reduce cost

Loads off the guys have had great results using small foam rollers - materials c£100ish

I used premix spray cans - cost c£150

i did it meself with a proper spray gun borrowed off me mate.

£30 in paint £15 in thinners, free sanding pads and masking materials.

so far only truck cab and tub are painted but theres plenty of paint left.

I work with a guy that does vw bays, etc. We've always based a Landy around the £2k - £2.5k mark and anything up to £3.5k with special paint.

whereabouts are you?

Many thanks guys. The feedback is much appreciated. I am based in the Scarborough area if anyone know's of any reasonably local contacts that might do re-sprays?

£2800s a bit steep aint it? i know not by paint shop standards but id rather pay the much smaller sub £100 and do it myself (good job too before you say)

Plastikote it... comes in spray cans in loads of RAL colours and can be bought of EBay for under a £5 a can, took me about £150 to do a 90
