Hi all
Seeking the experienced advice of this group.
Always wanted a 90, but also wanting a family so I've switched focus to a 110. (Late td5 or early tdci age)
I know a 90 will draw attention in a city, but the 110 I'm looking at probably a good bit more. I love it but I'm getting the fear of it being nicked or parts stripped.
I'm new to the Landy world (fairly new to UK, I'm Irish) so certainly feel a bit green on all the history, but also how bad things can be in the city. Tho I maybe being over worried too. I don't live in the greatest area (stockport) and park the car just outside Ancoats during the day (if anyone knows it).
When at home, It'll be parked on the street, alarm, tracker on it and I'll get a plate for the peddles too (and anything else suggested)

I am being daft? And it'll only last a week before it's gone?

Appreciate anyone and everyone's advice.
Ps I'm totally fine with it being my everyday runner.

Chance of being stolen or stripped is always a risk, dead rough up there isn't it?
I went to Manchester once and it was a s*** hole.
Get every bit of security you can thing off, don't rely on any of the Land Rover security.
Security bonnet hinges, door security hinges, security bolts on anything that can be removed, pedal lock/cover, steering wheel lock/cover, ignition lock, fuel cut off, starter cut off, and keep your fingers crossed while you stay awake at night looking at it.
Apart from that you should be OK.

Any hints on which city.... there are 77 of them in the UK.

get;
- a tracker
- clutch pedal lock
- removable steering wheel boss
- battery isolator
- door security screws
- insurance so you can buy another one

and you should be ok..

Seeing how nickable and strippable these are, is there anyway you can park it in the nearest police station car park, when not in use.

Have you driven a defender through heavy traffic? Stop start? In a cold winter or hot summer? Theft aside, the defender novelty will soon wear off!!
