BTW had to laugh out loud at one of the pommie magazines that had an article about what is the best LR for particular countries - they suggested a Series LR for Australia Pfffttthaw !! ever seen what corrugations do to a Hilux or Navara, let alone a riveted old Series machine with next to zero sound-proofing. Talk about ludicrous. My vote would be for a D1 or D2 diesel. Comfort like nothing else from that era and many later 4WDs as well, plus good economy too. And as for the dust getting in, well a Series is as good as a motorbike. Three Cheers for the Leyland Brothers!!!
