Hi troops,

searched everywhere and cant find the answer. Im sitting at work and all i want to know is after taking the door card off etc to fix my door catch!

Will i need to take the next metal section off? Basicly it is missing the metal bar that goes from the inner door handle lever to the actual latch. So what i need to know is. What part does the bar go onto reference the catch end? And will i need to remove the metal panel if so will the glass come with it?

hope that makes sense!

Sort of makes sense, you can do all lock changes with the glass in place and all the other stuff in place so - yes.

Its a metal bar with bent ends and a slight dog leg half way along. You will also need the 2
spring clips to secure the metal bar in place. There should be 2 of these bars. 1 for lock ech and another for the pus button. From memory the catch end for the lock barrel has 2 holes to choose from, but trial and error for it to work
You don't need to remove the metal plate, but it is a fiddle.
Good luck

Thanks fellas - i have the bar and your correct it is dog legged etc! It works from the outside its just the internal bar that doesnt work! I have a feeling how the latch part sits on the part with the 2 holes is in correct hence why it was taken off! i cant seem to open it with just using my fingers. Lets see ah! and yes it is fiddly! I have had a quick look at go and have found that its not easy when your a bloke with big hands haha

I changed all my barrels a few months ago after breaking a key in the drivers door as the lock was frozen. It was a fiddly job but can be done with long nosed pliers and a bit of swearing without removing the metal panel behind the door card. The barrles were basically shagged after 20 years so I decided to replace the lot so I bought a 'complete' barrel set from LR and was well pleased until I went to fill up with fuel. You've guessed.... a 'complete' barrel set doesn't include one for the lockable fuel cap. Doh! Luckily I was only 2 miles from home so had a root in the bin to find the old one. Apparently LR don't sell complete barrel kits.

Thanks for that guys! I will have to give it a bash! Whats the part called tat is attached to the door that opens it. Is it a latch set?

Have a look at busters guides. There is one in there on how to change the lock. Used that when doing mine and it went easy (after a few swear words and getting the wife to help as she has smaller hands :) )
