Hi

before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, I apolosise if I have posted this in the wrong section.

Just looking for advice. What do you recommend in terms of simple but effective security for a 1990 landy pick up, which I am sure before long, some thieving fecker will have his eyes on.

Ive tried a steering lock, but it was useless as it didnt prevent the wheel turning!!
anyway I am hoping someone has the answer,

thanks

Mikey

disclock, clutchclaw...........tracker is most likely to get it back if some fooker has it away

Steering locks of whatever type need to be extra long or they're near useless........and fit them with steering on full lock

I was recommended a Disklok before my 110 was nicked. I wish I'd taken the advice :( I have one now and a factory fitted alarm. A medium fits if you take the extra padding out.

Did you get your 110 bacl or did you end up having to get another one?

A disklok gets my vote every time.:)

No, it was spotted twice on APNR cameras with the same car following it both times but the other car couldn't be traced. Problably being used in crime.

Got a very nice 110 with a NAS conversion and a (dodge) alarm and immobiliser which cost more than the insurance payout but needs nothing doing to it. The rear is fully carpeted and roof lined.

I've started using 4x41 in Wakefield and he recommends disklok to his customers. A local mainstream deal has one that thieves have tried to remove but failed. It's totally knackered but held and saved the vehicle.

Try the search function, must be one of the most regularly asked questions! Or else get an Albanian with a cheap leather jacket and tell him that if he looks after your car he can shag your neighbours wife.

iv fitted an adrenline 4x4 pedal box it fits like a glove covers all the pedals and no chance of a theif being able to set off brake or anything

I hope that's aswell as a steering lock?:eek::eek::eek:

A pedal lock offers very little security to a landy unless fitted in conjunction with a steering lock. A pedal lock will not slow a thief down. as you do not need to remove it to nick the landy.

If you are anywhere near Morley near Leeds then the Police station sell Diskloks for 50 quid.

Just fitted a Cobra immobilliser to mine. Still using the steering lock as well though. Maybe I'm paranoid

Nope, you're not:eek:

The more things you have the more you'll slow them down - unless they lift it onto a flat bed that is:eek:

Use immobiliser, disklock (parked on full lock) and clutch claw on mine, and where feasible have it boxed in by other vehicles and hard to reach with a hiab

All, thanks for all the advice, I've just fitted the Disclock (taking the padding out first -great tip!!)

I have her under a tarp too (alas not the neighbours wife :D - she is hot!) -and may even go for the clutch claw too!!

That should slow the feckers down!!
