Morning!

I’m soon going to be painting the Landy. I’ve got a 90 with the externally rubbed roof. On some websites it lists the roof seal to side panels as a different part to the seal used on a later defender. Why is this? Will the front seal also be different?
Also is it worth sourcing a later defender roof while I’m at it or is that a waste of time? cheers

If it has a ribbed roof, keep it, the flat roofs really dont suit an older 90, those old ribbed roofs look the part if you ask me, I would buy an original parts catalogue for your vehicle, if you want to do work on it you will need one, I would also look to see if the seals were superceded to a different part number, either way it shouldnt be hard to buy the correct seals.
Give off road rovers a call, their parts guy is really good, they really know their stuff, based in Suffolk.

Ive just seen your location, you are 20 mins from me (near Eye) , off road rovers are in Bruirsyard, just past Framlingham.

I’ve got the workshop manuals etc if that’s the same thing?
I spoke to Paul at off-road rovers and he thinks they will be the same seal and off the top of his head thinks the seal arrangement changed somewhere around the introduction of the TD5.

Workshop manuals arnt the same as parts catalogues, I may have one here if you want it for what I paid for it, think it was a tenner or there abouts, I will check in the shed. I used to be one of Pauls techs a while back, he really does know his stuff, and if he doesnt know (which isnt very often) he wpnt be long finding out.
