hey guys need a bit of advice,
my disco 1 3.9 v8 has sprung an oil leak (surprise surpise) the problem im having is i cant locate were its coming from. I know its from the front of the engine above the oil filter but below the heads. i just cant see to much stuff blocking were im looking. also it only happens when the engine is warm. any suggestions would be greatly appretiated. thanks in advance

Your going to have to clean the engine and look for yourself.

sorry didnt explain myself very well is there a common problem place for them to leak? iv cleaned the engine but by the time the engines warm the oil is every wear again so it didnt really help

Most commonly they leak from the inside to the outside....

So clean it again and watch it from cold?

The only place for an oil leak above the filter but below the head is from the oil pressure switch. which is situated above the oil filter, it's either loose or oil is coming out via the electrical terminal.

I've no need for a crystal ball, I own a V8

I've got a simular leak, its coming from the oil filter housing. Got a gasket from Paddocks, but waiting for the oil change before i strip it down!
