Hello!
I've had my land rover for about a year, it's time for new tyres, what kind of tyres can i fit, that would help me a bit in the city, still maintain the offroad ability(probably some dual purpose tyres) without doing ANY modification and not damaging the direction, suspension, and braking system? I'm talking about width, profile, and obviously the 16 inch rim.

Any A/T's (all terrain) that you like the look of & are within your budget I'd guess chap.

I got a couple of Hankook Dyanapro AT/As recently that are apparently a pretty good compromise between on & off road, but I've yet to try them on the slipperry stuff so couldn't really say...........they were a bit pricey in my opinion too.

Anyone?

As said already, a set of All Terrain tyres would probably do you good. Depending on your budget you could go for some remoulds or brand new tyres.

Size wise, on standard Series LWB (5.5 inch depth) rims, 7.50s are the recommended maximum size you should go. Although many do go to 235/85 which is slightly wider and outside the maximum specified limit, and these people don't seem to suffer many problems if any.

SWB rims are 5 inches deep, while LWB rims are 5.5 inches deep. LWB rims will fit onto a SWB, infact, LWB rims were an option for 88-inch Land Rovers.

The rim's depth will usually be printed somewhere on the rim. The 5.5 rims also have a larger offset if my memory serves correct.
