Hi,
Just to introduce myself. I am a tree surgeon in Somerset, I've owned a few landies in my time and I couldn't last long without one! Started with a series III station wagon when I was 18, then a rebuilt IIA, then a rebuilt B reg 90. Since I sold the 90 I have missed laving a LR so I recently bought this 110 tipper for work. She's got a disco 200tdi on a galv chassis. Looking forward to getting stuck in!

Welcome to the nut house, look forward to seeing you on the tratter section

Many thanks for the welcome! Probably me being stupid but 'tratter section'?

I am stupidly excited about owning a land rover again, I took a big risk and flew up to Edinburgh to collect it without previous viewing. The 11.5hr drive back was fun! Have had to do some work already. Replaced head gasket, front and rear props, cam belt, clean out hand brake drum. Still need to replace the exhaust but getting there. Have been using it for work a fair bit already. A proper work horse.

LR Deafners get reffered to as Tractors/Tratters :)

Sounds like a good way to road test the new project though - You either have massive balls or good breakdown cover!

Slang term for a defender, say it in your best west country accent as most defenders sound like tractors when they're running.

Sounds like you're already having fun with it anyway

Haha, yes that makes sense. Mine definitely qualifies as a tratter then. Noisy, smoky, dirty, bumpy and agricultural. Can't beat it though. I did need to call the nice people in the AA once on the drive back from Scotland when I couldn't re start it. Turned out to just be a loose wire on the starter motor.

Yeah yeah. We've all done that.

Buy a Landy. Can't bare the thought of driving it home for a 12 hour stint. Then suddenly it 'won't start'.

So Mr AA man how good are you? What's that no need for a tow home? BUGGER!!

Ha ha ha. Welcome to the group.

Cheers! Yeah the AA truck did look appealing!
