Wondering if anyone was able to get insured on a Land Rover defender 90 (old or new) at 17 years old (male driver) and if so how much and who was the insurer?
This year at 17, first year driving and 3 points I insured mine as a van for my gardening business for just under £1500 with Aviva van insurance. 1986 2.5 petrol 90, now 200tdi.
The NFU are very good, but will only insure under 25s if immediate family have a policy with them, are a member of the union or under an umbrella policy e.g. entire farm.
At 17 I paid £300 for a 2.25 series 3 and £600 fully comp on a brand new 2.5l subaru. When At 18 they charged me £900 for a 300tdi 90.
I've not been with them for a few years now though.
I'm 18 and i've got a 1994 Defender 300TDI, using the online quote system Aviva quoted me £1200 so i rang them and complained saying that it's far to expensive, so they done another quote on the phone and i got it for £600 fully comp! can't complain at that

I got £1500 on for 3rd party when I got mine when I was 18, comes down with parent on, just make sure that your next insurance will honor named driver no claims
I managed to insured my 1986 90 with a 300tdi in it fully comp under commericial insurance, and i pay £560 with protected no claims. so it is possible to get it for under a grand.
