Hi folks

So as you can see from the pic this shock turret is in pretty bad shape. my mechanical knowledge is fairly to say the least, but i'm trying to learn more!
Firstly, is it diabolical to drive with a shock turret in such bad condition? and where is the best place to get new parts for my land rover?

Just a couple of helpful pointers.

1. its quite polite to introduce yourself, usually the best place is the "introduce yourself" section.

2. If you just jump in with questions without searching either the site or google you wont get the kind of replies you want!

This is not like any other forum you may or may not have been to before, there is a fountain of knowledge and some really helpful people on here. BUT, you will see the darker side of some members if you dont help yourself first.

Just a bit of friendly advice thats all Im not looking to warn you off or anything.

Thats knackered mate.

It's worth upgrading to galvanised versions so this won't happen again. Also you will probably need to order new turret rings.

Im going to say yup tis fooked you need new turrets and the turret rings bolts will probably sheer when you try to undo them so new turret rings too. It is a very simple job.

And don't drive on them. Your only asking for bad things to happen if you do.
